The subject matter of this course overlaps with the well-known "Perspectives on the World Christian Movement" course, developed by Dr. Ralph Winter of the US Center for World Mission. This class has been conducted in hundreds of locations and has prepared and mobilized thousands of Christians to participate in God's global plan.

"Exposing God's Heart for the Nations" consists of 10 lessons which are grouped into five subjects.

- Biblical: What is God's global plan as revealed in scripture, and what parts are his people called to play?
- Historical: How have God's people responded through the centuries to his calling to share his message with all peoples?
- Strategic: What has been learned about reaching people groups and serving the needs of humanity?
- Cultural: How should a society's culture be taken into account as the good news is proclaimed?
- Partnership: What opportunities exist in the student's local area to be involved in cross-cultural service and outreach?
